Richard Ormrod and Mary Hofman have performed duos together for ten years in festivals and venues across the UK as well as touring the Mediterranean, Malaysia and Cambodia. They are Making Music Selected Artists 2020-23 and have released their first CD together with Ty Cerdd and Naxos in September 2022: https://www.tycerdd.org/unbroken-threads. Their project Beethoven in Wales was nominated for a Royal Philharmonic award. When not making music they love to spend their time exploring the mountains around their home in north Wales with their two daughters.

 

Upcoming performances in 2023 include: Machynlleth Festival, Conwy Festival, Grimsby, Oxford, Reading, Rhyl, Welshpool.

In autumn 2018 Mary and Richard started a project with Rhyl music club performing all ten Beethoven Violin and Piano sonatas in ten music clubs across Wales.  A new work by Rhian Samuel, Hilary Tann and Sarah Lianne Lewis has been commissioned for each set of sonatas. This project has been generously supported by PRS Foundation's Women Make Music, The Colwinston Foundation, Ty Cerdd and Gwyneth and Tony Peters.
